The BIR/DMCRR "Hands-On" training series: Liver and pancreatic imaging

19th June 2019  08:30 AM - 05:30 PM (GMT+01:00) Europe/London

This "Hands-On" event in liver and pancreatic imaging is designed to familiarise and guide delegates through a range of liver and pancreatic disorders. In six sessions, delegates will be introduced not only to the more routine presentations of liver and pancreatic disease but also the more atypical imaging signs of rare and complex disorders.

Delegates will have the opportunity to review the imaging of patients disorders; imaging findings will be considered with the clinical profile to establish a diagnosis and, wherever possible, to decide on the correct management plan.

The specific topics to be covered are:
  • Diffuse liver diseases
  • Benign focal liver lesions
  • Malignant liver tumours
  • Biliary disorders
  • Pancreatic disorders

In each session, delegates will be asked to review up to ten case studies. This will be followed by an interpretation session with the experts, during which there will be dedicated time for delegates to pose questions and to interact with tutors.

The number of places will be limited so that delegates can experience a more personalised, interactive method of teaching. Early booking is therefore strongly advised.

The course will be run using Macs (one per delegate) to provide the best interactive experience for every delegate.

Feedback from previous "Hands-On" training courses:

"Excellent course. Large volume of interesting cases all with good learning points"

"The idea is perfect – at the moment "hands-on" courses are the only way of learning that I am interested in. Short introductory lectures were necessary and well-designed. Provided self-assessment booklets – brilliant!"

"Tremendous learning experience"
